Experts due in Zhuhai to advance 'green' buildings

The 14th International Conference on Green & Energy-Efficient Building & New Technologies & Products Expo (IGEBC) will take place at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center from April 2 to 3.

This is the first time for China's largest and most prestigious industrial gathering in the green building industry to be held outside of Beijing since 2005. The theme this year is New Era of Green Building in High Quality.

More than 300 renowned experts from home and abroad will make speeches at comprehensive forums and 48 parallel sessions, showing off the latest in scientific and technological achievements, advanced concepts, trends, innovative materials, and successful cases.

The speeches will address 40 "green" subjects including building design and interior environment, innovation on existing buildings, ecological urban areas, architectural big data, and international cooperative projects.

Furthermore, participants are expected to discuss technical standards, policies and measures, evaluation systems, detection, and identification of green and energy-efficient buildings, while sharing work experiences.

The New Technologies & Products Expo, being held at the same time, will be in an exhibition area of 10,000 sq m (11,960 sq yd). More than 300 enterprises will display their latest technological achievements and practical applications in energy-efficient and green buildings, green design, intelligent buildings, and green building materials. 

Organizers of the event are the Chinese Society for Urban Studies (CSUS), Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, US China Green Fund, China Green Building Council, and Eco-City Research Committee of China.
