Short videos demonstrate 'Zhejiang Made'

The jury of a "Zhejiang Made" short video competition selected award-winning works in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on March 26.

The competition, aimed at further strengthening the influence of Zhejiang's manufacturing sector by creating videos about "Zhejiang Made" and embracing new ways to encapsulate the progress made by the manufacturing industry, has collected a number of short videos from Zhejiang companies, associations, research institutes and government bodies since it kicked off in August 2017.

By analyzing each film in terms of themes, creativity, story and techniques, the jury selected the winners of three gold, five silver, and eight bronze awards. Four additional videos were labeled as excellent, though they didn't receive an award.

Among the winners, there was a self-directed film showing the improvements made to "Zhejiang Made" products over the past few years. Another film, which received a silver medal, told the engrossing story of a technician working for the Wenzhou-based Chint Group from the perspective of a child. There were also biographical videos and videos about company developments and achievements.

The videos painted a comprehensive picture of the advancement of Zhejiang's manufacturing industry.

"Short videos are an innovative approach to government and company publicity in the new era, as they allow people to express their understanding of 'Zhejiang Made' in a more artistic way," said a jury member.

The competition was co-hosted by the Provincial Head Office in Quality Manufacturing, the Publicity Department of Zhejiang, the Cyberspace Administration of Zhejiang, the Zhejiang Education Department, the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision, the Zhejiang Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and TV, and Zhejiang Daily Press Group.

The award-winning works will be released on multiple media platforms within the next few days.
