Founded in 1920, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) has remained on the top 10 list of the Best Universities in China. HIT is renowned as the leading engineering school in China.

In 2002, HIT and the Shenzhen Municipal Government created the HIT Shenzhen Graduate School in the University Town of Shenzhen.
