Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) is a key educational and research institution in Guangdong province in South China with a reputation for producing highly qualified and respected graduates.
Located in Guangzhou, China's third largest city, GDUT has several campuses with a total land area of more than 550 acres. GDUT offers a wide range of courses in engineering, management, arts, economics, science, literature and law. More than 2000 full-time teachers in the university support a student population of over 45,000. GDUT also enrolls international students and various levels of continuing education students.

GDUT boasts 20 faculties and schools, four public course teaching centers and five post-doctoral mobile stations. It has 85 undergraduate majors in total. According to report published by ESI database in 2017, the engineering course at GDUT is listed in ESI world’s top 0.5 percent, while material discipline is listed in the top 1 percent.
GDUT has one national and local joint engineering laboratory, one national and local joint engineering research center, one modern service industry base for the National Development and Reform Commission, one key laboratory for the Ministry of Education, and one international cooperation laboratory for the Ministry of Education. It has more than 70 key laboratories and other provincial scientific research platforms. In 2017, the university had 2,166 invention patent applications, ranking eighth among the nation's universities.

In addition, GDUT has established a number of interdisciplinary collaborative innovation platforms with local governments and industry. At present, it is striving to build high-level research and development platforms in high-end equipment, IC design, industrial design, advanced materials, environmental ecology, bio-pharmaceuticals, soft materials and other fields.
GDUT has established connections and partnerships with over 150 overseas universities, enterprises and research institutes. GDUT has set up Study Abroad Scholarships and International Student Scholarships to promote international education and academic exchange. GDUT has always attached great importance to the cultivation of international students and served the Belt and Road national policy.
