Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), founded in 1896, is one of the most venerable universities in China. It is a national key university under the State Education Ministry and built by the State Education Ministry and Shanghai Municipality.

SJTU has established 21 campuses, two academic faculties,  four general-degree programs, 14 grade-A discipline doctorate programs, 57 grade-B discipline doctorate programs, 103 master’s degree programs, and four specialized master’s degree programs including Engineering Master, MBA, MPA, Agricultural Spread Master.

There are 16 post-doctoral programs covering science, engineering, arts, management, agriculture, economics, law, and education. Besides, SJTU possesses four state-level educational bases for engineering physics, engineering mathematics, undergraduate cultural quality education and biology techniques. It also possesses 16 national key disciplines, nine Shanghai municipal key disciplines, nine state key laboratories & ministry key laboratories, one national techniques transfer center, and two national engineering research centers.

The total amount of full-time students in SJTU is up to 23,200, including 14,397 undergraduates, 5,123 postgraduate candidates, and 2,314 PhD candidates.
