Shanghai Maritime University

This university concentrates on shipping, logistics, economy and management but covers other disciplines as well, including engineering, law, the sciences, and literature. 

It has two campuses, both in the Pudong area, and has about 20,000 students, 17,200 undergrads and 3,000 graduate students, and nearly 1,000 faculty members. 

It has various programs for undergrads, master’s, PhD, Chinese language, preparatory courses, international classes for exchange students, short-term and long-term further study, summer vocational, and other professional training. Its library holds a collection of 3.73 million books.

It has an Institute of International Education (Foreign Students Office) that oversees foreign student affairs and can provide Shanghai Government Scholarships for qualified foreign students. Since 2012, it has had Ministry of Education approval to offer Chinese Government Scholarships to foreign students. In 2013, it had around 600 foreign students from more than 50 countries.
