Located in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, Jilin University is a national comprehensive university under the direction of the Ministry of Education.

The university has 44 schools and offers various subjects including philosophy, economics, law, education, art, history, engineering, medical sciences, management and military sciences.

There are 6,534 teaching staffs at the university, of whom 2,062 are professors, 1,137 are doctoral supervisors and ten are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The university has five national laboratories, a national engineering lab and a national engineering technology research center.

International college cooperation has become a focus of the university in recent years. To date, Jilin University has established cooperation programs with 282 universities and institutes in 39 countries and regions.

It has also started technological and innovative enterprises under the support of the local government and its own talent advantages, which promotes industrial transformation of its technological achievements.
