Shaoxing calls for global talents and S&T projects

Shaoxing city in Zhejiang province recently released a notice of demand for about 2,000 talented individuals and 41 science and technology projects.

The city is in need of 1,973 high-level professionals and 19 foreign experts. They are divided into two categories - one for creative and innovative work, and the other for business startups.

The positions are from 102 key enterprises in Shaoxing and cover more than 20 fields, including high-end equipment, modern medicine and electronic information. The jobs for personnel with doctorates account for 55 percent of the total and the offered highest annual salary is as much as 2 million yuan ($316,700).

An official from Shaoxing's organization department explained that this time, in addition to overseas professionals, the city attaches great importance to domestic high-caliber talents and applies the same treatments and preferential policies to the two groups.

In the future, the government will keep a close eye on Shaoxing's listed companies and key enterprises from leading and emerging industries and help them hunt for talents and advanced projects, according to the official.
