Yangzhou Maternal and Childcare Service Center

Yangzhou Maternal and Childcare Service Center, founded in 1954, is a "Tertiary Level A" hospital specializing in medical care, healthcare, teaching, research and community services. 

It is responsible for the business guidance and network management of the city's maternal and childcare organizations, and undertakes the management of maternal health system, childcare system, neonatal disease screening, neonatal asphyxia and resuscitation training, and midwifery personnel training. The hospital guides and assist the government and higher authorities in promoting the implementation of major maternal and child public health projects, with obvious advantages in perinatal care, prevention of birth defects, and prenatal diagnosis. 

The hospital covers an area of 25,000 square meters and has a building area of 48,000 sq m. There are 45 first-class departments and 43 second-level departments equipped with 450 beds. There are more than 790 employees and 637 medical and technical personnel, 40 of whom having obtained master's and doctoral degrees. The hospital has a provincial key discipline for maternal and childcare, as well as 3 provincial key disciplines and 14 municipal key specialists. In 2013, the nutrition department squeezed the first batch to win the title of "National Demonstration Zone for Clinical Nutritionists"; the hospital won the title of "National Excellent Infant Friendly Hospital" in 2015; and was awarded the "National Early Childhood Development Demonstration Base" and "China Birth Defect Intervention Assistance Demonstration Base" in 2017. 

Over the years, the hospital has been actively exploring, innovating, and strengthening the connotation construction through extensive cooperation. It has established collaborative relationships and received technical assistance from Shanghai Red House Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Jiangsu Women and Children Health Hospital, and Nanjing Children's Hospital. It also assisted in the establishment of the Yangzhou Women and Children Health Care Alliance, aiming to improve the utilization efficiency of high-quality maternal and child resources in the city. 

Adhering to the strategy of pursuing scientific development and cultivating talents, the hospital, in the past three years, has added 20 scientific research projects and won 8 city-level new technology introduction and technological progress awards. It has also published more than 80 papers in core journals. The hospital has successfully held the laparoscopic operation competition of obstetrics and gynecology clinicians, the annual meeting of Yangzhou Obstetrics and Gynecology, and various national and provincial high-level academic exchange activities. 

The hospital always adheres to the concept of people-oriented services. It strives to strengthen the construction of spiritual civilization, leading to it winning the title of "Provincial Civilization Organization" from 2013 to 2015, and the "National Excellent Baby-Friendly Hospital" from 2014 to 2015.
