Yangzhou Hospital of TCM

The Yangzhou Hospital of TCM was founded in 1978. It is a comprehensive, modern and national Tertiary level A TCM hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation, and cultural education. It is a designated foreign-related hospital in Yangzhou. 

It is also a hospital affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and a teaching hospital of Yangzhou University and Nantong University. At present, the hospital has been identified as the first batch of standardized training centers for Chinese medicine resident doctors, and a pilot organization for innovative Chinese medical treatment model. 

The hospital covers an area of 36,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 57,500 sq m, and equips 700 beds. The hospital has 628 employees, including 13 famous Chinese medicine practitioners with provincial and municipal recognitions, one nationally renowned Chinese medicine clinical professional, 7 doctors and 74 masters of medicine, and 104 senior professionals. 

The hospital has a Yangzhou Famous Physician Center, a Yangzhou Cancer Center, and a Yangzhou Neck-Shoulder and Lumbocrural Pain Clinic. There are 22 first-class clinical departments such as emergency, internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatric, orthopedics, acupuncture, and oncology; and 33 secondary departments such as cardiology, stomach disease, pulmonology, encephalopathy, and urology. The hospital has also developed a series of characteristics and advantages in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of cancer, neck-shoulder and lumbocrural pain, stroke rehabilitation, healthcare, cataract recovery, infertility, and other intractable diseases. 

The hospital has a complete infrastructure and 58 sets of modern diagnostic and treatment equipment such as CT, magnetic resonance, DSA, and linear accelerators. There are also medical and technical departments on imaging, medical examination, nuclear medicine, pathology, and ultrasound diagnosis. There are more than 500 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces in pharmacies, many of them are made from the prescriptions and secret recipes of veteran TCM experts, which all have remarkable curative effect. 

The hospital is responsible for the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as the standardized training for resident physicians and general practitioners in Yangzhou and surrounding areas. Currently, there are 14 teaching and research sections in TCM specialties, 9 master supervisors, and 46 professors and associate professors. The hospital offers standardized training for 240 doctors and interns each year and is a clinical teaching center of the Hanlin College of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and an undergraduate internship center for Raman University in Malaysia. 

The hospital has a national medical master inheriting studio, 2 provincial-level TCM inheriting studios, and 6 Yangzhou veteran teacher studios. A group of Chinese medical clinicians learn the skills, passes on the achievements of experienced Chinese medical clinics, and lays a solid foundation for the growth of famous doctors.
