Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park is conveniently nestled in the center of Changchun, capital of NE China's Jilin province.

The park is home to more than 160 animal species and 142 plant species, with over 1,860 and 87,000 specimens respectively.

Apart from providing a wonderful nature experience to visitors, the supervising park committee also insists that the park protects endangered species and promotes the importance of that protection to the public.

The park was established as early as 1938 and was entitled "the best zoological and botanical park in Asia" at that time. However, it was destroyed by Japanese soldiers in 1945.

In 1984, the park was reconstructed and re-opened in 1987.

Now, it is open all year round! Visitors can meet the animals and view the plants in all seasons.
