Hohhot agricultural firms listed in national top 500

A total of five firms in Hohhot, including China's dairy giants Yili Group and Mengniu Dairy Group, were included in a national list of top 500 agricultural firms, according to the Farmers' Daily, a State-run newspaper.

With annual revenues of 60.31 million yuan ($9.47 million) in 2016, Yili ranked fourth while Mengniu was sixth.

Three other firms in Hohhot are the list –– Shiquanshimei Group, Mongolian Sheep Co, and Zhenglong Grain Co.

According to the newspaper, operators in the modern agricultural sector are vital driving forces for promoting the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
