Signal time of traffic light adjusted in 2018

Conferece on the work of public security and transportation management was held in Changsha, Mar 1. Last year, Changsha's transportation system was maintained in good condition with the traffic perfomance index down 2.9 percent year-on-year.

The traffic is regarded as smooth with an index between zero and two, moderately smooth between two and four, slightly congested between four and six, moderately congested between six and eight, severe congested between eight and ten.

Thanks to the toughest crackdown on chaotic traffic launched by Changsha traffic police last year, the city's traffic improved a lot with traffic violations controlled.

In 2018, Changsha traffic polic will continue to combat traffic jam and chaos systematically. It plans to follow the principle of giving priority to public transport, promoting the plan and construction of slow-moving traffic, and raising the ratio of walking and bicycling among different travel modes. It will also improve the city's traffic facilities, such as the zebra crossing, traffic light and pedestrian areas. Five new footbridges will be constructed.

The signal time of traffic light in urban districts will be adjusted to benefit citizens' daily travel.
