Erhe is a small village in Shulan, Jilin province, famous for its rich and beautiful snow resources.

The village opened its first snow festival in 2017 which brought more than 30,000 tourists and over 800,000 yuan ($127,287) to the villagers.

Since then, the village has been listed among Jilin province's first special town construction programs and is one of the most popular destinations among visitors to the province.

Entering Erhe Village, visitors can see original village scenery with the entire land covered with thick snow. Because of its location, it starts to snow every October and the snow can reach two-meters deep in winter.

Houses covered with snow look like huge mushrooms and sleeping rabbits, which makes the winter days interesting.

There are more than 100 courtyards built of yellow mud and surrounded by fencing just as they were in the old days.

In addition to the traditional houses, local food and performances are also attractive elements. Tourists can make their own toufu and pancakes and have a taste of the local pork and chicken dishes.

To improve tourists' travelling experience, the village has constructed infrastructure like roads and parking lots and improved services such as Wi-Fi. It has been providing convenient service centers since last year.

Beside tourism, the village is also working hard on improving its education and livelihood systems.
