Snow Village attracts tourists all over the world

The Snow Village near Laobai Mountain in Dunhua, Jilin province, is an integrated traveling destination combined with forestry, local culture and ice and snow resources.

Visitors can not only have a taste of the local food, but also experience traditional houses and transportation methods, as well as purchase some hand-made crafts.

For example, they could try their hand at making toufu, pancakes, or dumplings, try crafting window decorations or participate in the ritual which local people use to show their respect to the mountains.

The tourism module integrating ice and snow tourism and the folk culture in the Snow Village has attracted many tourists, particularly people from South China and younger generations, according to statistics provided by Snow Village's administrative committee.

The traditional folk culture and the unique forestry are the programs that attract tourists from China and elsewhere.

The Village is now focusing on improving its services such as constructing better facilities and training staff members in how to offer tourists better experiences.
