Zhongguancun, Tianjin to seek further development

On Dec 29, Tianjin (Binhai)-Zhongguancun Science Park celebrated its first year of operation with tremendous achievements on accelerating the collaboration development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.

The Tianjin (Binhai) Zhongguancun Science Park located at Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area was inaugurated on Nov 22, 2016, as a result of cooperation between Beijing and Tianjin.

The park integrates the innovative power of Zhongguancun, a technology hub in Beijing, with top notch supporting services of Binhai District, a State-level new area in Tianjin, which has now become a highland of innovation resources.

Shi Qilin, head of Tianjin Zhongguancun Science Park Operation Service Co Ltd, reported the zone's annual development and said that within one year, the park has welcomed more than 300 registered enterprises with total registered capital of 4.9 billion yuan ($741 million), creating an industrial cluster effect.

The park has also established an industrial ecology where innovation-driven medium small and micro-sized enterprises can coordinate.

A batch of 12 companies including the College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Mole Tech and Shanghai OpenNews Tech Co Ltd signed agreements to enter the Tianjin Zhongguancun Science Park.

The park also employed 22 science research leaders, experts and industrial elites as tutors to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship-oriented talents.
