Ice lanterns light up Changchun

Just like skiing, ice lantern shows are an important part of the ice and snow culture in NE China.

Nearly 100 ice sculptures and lanterns have been on display every night from 6 pm to 9 pm since Jan 12 at Changchun Park in Jilin province.

The exhibition area covers 200,000 square meters and the ice lanterns are made of more than 2,000 cubic meters of ice.

The lantern show intends to build a unique ice and snow night landscape and the ice sculptures have a theme of Changchun as a forest city and an ecological wonderland.
