
Mayor Zhang Guoqing
Zhang Guoqing, born in August 1964, is an ethnic Han from Luoshan, Henan province. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in July 1984 and entered the workforce in September 1985. He had an in-service postgraduate education at Tsinghua University with a major in quantitative economics and holds the degree of Doctor of Economics. He is a senior engineer.
He currently serves as member of the 19th CPC Central Committee, deputy secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, mayor of the Municipal Government.
He has served successively as:
Vice-president of China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO);
Party secretary of NORINCO;
Deputy Party secretary of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO GROUP) and president of NORINCO;
Party secretary and general manager of NORINCO GROUP;
Deputy secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and mayor of Chongqing.
Since December 2017 he has been serving as:
Deputy secretary of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee;
Acting mayor of the Municipal Government and secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Municipal General Office.
