The new preferential policies for foreign talents in Changchun New Area promote the development of the area and Jilin province. They also benefit the careers of foreign students studying at Jilin University, said Li.

Li pointed out that there are foreign students from 115 countries studying in 45 schools at Jilin University, accounting for 40 percent of Changchun's foreign students. The new preferential policies directly benefit them.

According to Li, foreign students in the past had to go back to their country or run a business in other cities in China, but the new policies guarantee them rights to employment and entrepreneurship in Changchun.

Li thinks that the new preferential policies for foreign talents will have a positive effect on economic development, education and culture in Changchun. Good policies will attract talents, and talents bring business and opportunities, she said.

After foreign students who own businesses in China go back to their homes, they will be bridges connecting China and their countries and conduits for Chinese policies, culture and wisdom.
