Over 500 China-Europe freight trains reach Ereenhot

The port of Ereenhot (Erenhot) has received 520 China-Europe freight trains and 26,595 containers in 2017, according to the Ereenhot customs office on Dec 15.
The weight of goods on China-Europe freight trains through Ereenhot reached over 310,000 tons, hitting a value of 2.5 billion dollars.
Earlier in October 2016, the National Development and Reform Commission announced the construction of the China-Europe Railway transforming Inner Mongolia’s Ereenhot, Manzhouli and Ulaanqab as the main hub cities along the route. The China-Europe rail routes have been emphasized as part of developing China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
