Cross-country running comes to Hulunbuir

Nearly 100 runners gathered at the Barga grassland in Xin Barga Right Banner, Hulunbuir League to attend the cross-country running competition on Dec 17.

The race attracted runners from Beijing, Tianjin, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces to experience running in the extremely icy environment. They have endured freezing cold temperatures below 30 C, and finally a man from Kenya won the championship at men’s group. 

The event has built a platform for runners to communicate and it is also a way to promote local tourism during winter, said head of the government of Xin Barga Right Banner.
