Ulansuhai Nur to hold ice and snow festival

The 2nd Ulansuhai Nur Ice and Snow Festival is scheduled to open on Jan 13, according to an announcement at a press conference held on Dec 12. 

The 48-day tourism festival contains ice sculptures, winter fishing, a snacks and souvenirs fair, and entertainment activities.

Ulansuhai Nur, located in Urad Front Banner in Bayannuur, is recognized as a pearl of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It’s a rare lake zone surrounded by arid steppe and desert areas, which was included on the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance in 2002.
