Baotou Aluminum (Group) Co (包头铝业（集团）有限责任公司) was established in 1958 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in May 2005 before completing exchanges and absorption, and being delisted in December 2007.

Baotou Aluminum is a subsidiary of Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), with 80 percent of its shares being held by Chinalco and 20 percent by the local government. The group has nine subsidiary companies, three branches, three branch plants and 12 functional offices.

Baotou Aluminum Group is the only company in China that produces high-purity aluminum with advanced segregation technologies. The annual output can reach 20,000 tons.

The company holds assets totaling 3.08 billion yuan ($467.06 million), and produces high-purity (99.99 percent) aluminum, aluminum alloys, environmentally friendly refining agents, industrial silicon and ceramic refractory materials.

Baotou Aluminum Group has been approved by the ISO9000-1 Quality System and Professional Health and Safety Management System GB/T28001-2001, and has also qualified for the National Advanced Team and the National Advanced Enterprise of Top Quality and Efficiency.
