China Second Metallurgy Group Corporation Ltd

Founded in 1956 and located in the Rare Earth Hi-tech Industrial Zone in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, China Second Metallurgy Group Corporation Limited (中国二冶集团有限公司) is a comprehensive construction enterprise specializing in engineering projects, equipment manufacturing and real estate. It is a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), a world top 500 enterprise.

The group held registered capital of 616 million yuan ($93.22 million) and assets of 61 billion yuan by the end of 2012. It has 6,373 employees, including 300 nationally qualified architects, 2,604 professionals and 1,467 technical workers, along with more than 5,100 devices and pieces of equipment.

Since the establishment, the company has taken part in the construction of dozens of metallurgy and mining projects at home, including Baotou Iron and Steel Group, Shouhang Group, Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group, as well as industrial and infrastructural projects in Russia, Mongolia, Iraq, Afghanistan and many other countries.

The company has received many awards from the China Metallurgical Construction Association since 2009. Over 70 of the company’s projects received national or provincial engineering awards, and 200 received prizes for Progress in Science and Technology and Excellent Research Achievements.
