Wu Zhigang, a researcher in Jilin Provincial Academy of Forestry Sciences Institute said the middle and lower reaches of Tumenjiang River has been a good place for migrating birds to have a rest.

In 2017, the number of migrating birds reached the highest. There are two main routes for Chinese birds' migration, the first one is from East Asia to Australia, and the other is from Korean Peninsula and Russian Far East. Recently, Jilin paid more attention to the protection of environment to create a better habitat for birds.
