Guangdong Museum of Art is a modern multi-functional art museum located on No 38 Yanyu Road of Ersha Island in Guangzhou. With a construction area of 22,000 square meters, the building consists of 12 indoor exhibition halls and a special outdoor exhibition zone covering 5,000 square meters.
The museum was completed in November 1997 and opened to the public on June 29, 2011. The main functions of the museum include art works collection, research and exhibition as well as promoting artistic exchanges. As of now, the museum is home to more than 36,000 pieces of art work including paintings and sculptures.

While being committed to promoting local arts, Guangdong Museum of Art has established a series of cultural brands with great international influence such as the Guangzhou Triennial and Guangzhou Photo Biennial. The museum also dedicates itself to promoting international cultural exchange by hosting a range of international cultural forums.
