Nearly 20 German enterprises recently attended a program cooperation conference in Changchun where they discussed their willingness to invest with the local government.

This was their first visit to Changchun for many German managers.

Its long history of manufacturing industries, geographic advantages and the Chinese government's investment in NE China's infrastructure and industrial upgrading are all elements attracting these foreign investors.

The manufacturing of CRH trains and new energy cars demonstrates Changchun's rapid development in advanced technology. The further upgrading and transformation of software and mechanical skills will help the city make faster progress.

Meanwhile, Jilin province is a vital region for German enterprises wishing to export their products into Northeast Asia, particularly the Russian market.

The local government's support also promotes successful cooperation between German and Changchun enterprises.

Markus Gerlach, executive director of CNP-Technology Water and Biosolids GmbH, said his company focuses on water treatment and the Changchun government is now paying more and more attention to ecological construction, which promoted the cooperation between them.

Gao Shan, director of the Bureau of Commerce of Changchun, said the government strongly supports the foreign investment in Jilin and offers it high-quality services.

The Central government's advances in infrastructure construction in NE China have also helped improve Jilin's advanced manufacturing.

Frank Weight, chief technology officer at Changchun Hexin Mechanical Manufacturing, said China has improved a great deal in its expressway and railway construction.

Many of the German managers expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Chinese government and enterprises because of continuously improving innovative capacity and technology.
