The express delivery sector in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has continued its rapid growth over the past two years, with networks now reaching 90 percent of rural areas and townships in the city.

The postal administration and bureau of commerce in the city has worked out a system to manage all distribution centers, postal stations and express delivery vehicles to promote the courier sector in rural areas.

It has established distribution centers in all five counties to sort parcels, and built 184 postal stations in villages and towns.

A total of nine large express companies have built their service outlets in the city. And an average of 341,000 deliveries are made each day.

The expansion of the delivery network helps facilitate rural e-commerce, helping local agricultural products appear quickly on dinner tables across the city.

The network is also helping speed up the development of modern agriculture and livestock husbandry, as well as the manufacturing industry, bringing a total output value of more than 1 billion yuan ($150 million).
