Hohhot marks Double Ninth Festival

Activities were held in Yuquan district in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 26, to welcome the upcoming traditional Chongyang Festival.

The Chongyang Festival, or the Double Ninth Festival, falls on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, which is a special day for the elderly. This year’s festival falls on Oct 28.

The district’s Qingquan street community organized activities for over 50 senior residents, guiding them to visit places including Tongshun Alley and Yuquan contemporary arts creative industrial park, designed to highlight the achievements and changes in Yuquan district over recent years.

Residents from the community also cooked for the seniors, and accompanied them to celebrate the festival.
