With a new headquarters in Hengqin New Area, Elife Holdings Ltd intends to become a leading domestic enterprise in fast-moving consumer goods and new retailing industries with annual revenue of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) within three years.

The Hong Kong-listed company opened headquarters in the Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley (Inno Valley HQ) on Sept 17, just three months after selecting the site. Eventually, the base will accommodate 10,000 high-end talents and their homes.

Primarily engaged in trading across Asia and investment in unconventional gas, Elife has been expanding into consumer products in collaboration with Chinese O2O e-commerce www.huimin.cn since 2016.

Using new retail operational modes, the Hengqin headquarters will maximize core advantages in mobile technology, cloud computing, big data, and AI, said Zhang Xiaobin, chairman.

Online and offline intelligent customer service will also be prepared for a new round of industrial revolution. Supported by Hengqin policies, the company welcomes the opportunity to bring in internationalized talents, technologies, projects, and capital to lead the industry, added Zhang.

By Aug 31, Hengqin had registered 1,716 Hong Kong and Macao enterprises and more than 1,000 established headquarters in the area.

As to why Elife chose Hengqin, Yang Chuan, director of the area Administrative Committee, cited benefits of the National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Free Trade Zone, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Hengqin enterprises will further prosper upon the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge coming into service by the end of this year, he said.

Yang said Hengqin New Area is home to more than 6,400 science and technology enterprises. It will attract and incubate even more cutting-edge science and technology advances in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud computing, he elaborated.
