11th CNEA Expo opens in Changchun

The 9th High-level Forum on Northeast Asia Cooperation was held on Sept 1, the opening day of the 11th China-Northeast Asia Expo in Changchun, capital of Jilin province.
Government officials from Russia, Japan, the DPRK, Mongolia and the ROK gave speeches at the opening ceremony on regional cooperation, economic development, and collaboration with Northeast China.
Wang Yang, vice premier of China's State Council; Bayin Chaolu, secretary of the Jilin provincial committee of the Communist Party of China; Qian Keming, deputy minister of Commerce and Jiang Zengwei, chairman of the China International Trade Promotion Committee also delivered speeches.
Liu Guozhong, governor of Jilin province, hosted the ceremony.
Wang said that China is one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world. Jilin province, located at the center of Northeast Asia and being the cradle of industry in China, welcomes entrepreneurs wishing to establish and develop businesses.
"The Expo is a result of regional cooperation and is also a trigger for more cooperation in the Northeast Asia region," Wang added.
"The forum will focus on the theme of 'promoting investment facilitation and trade liberalization, and promoting regional interconnection and inclusive development in Northeast Asia' creating in-depth dialogues and consultations to enhance mutual understanding and trust, cohesion and cooperation," Bayin Chaolu said.
The forum, co-hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission and Jilin's provincial government, was held after the opening ceremony of the 11th China-Northeast Asia Expo, which will last until Sept 5.
Dignitaries from Northeast Asia and other regions, representatives of the relevant ministries and commissions of the State Council, the world's top 500 multinational executives, and delegations from many of China's provinces and cities also attended the event.
