Quju Opera Troupe of Henan Province

The Quju Opera Troupe of Henan Province was founded in March of 1960. Its predecessors were Kang Jian Opera Troupe and Xin Sheng Quju Opera Society.

The Troupe has created, collated and transplanted a lot of excellent plays, such as Chen Sanliang, Exiled in Blizzard, The Late Legend of Qing Xianglian, Visiting the Marshal with Boots on the Back, Dream of Red Mansions, Covering, Hurry on with Journey, Traveling in the Countryside, Praise to the Double Beauty, Soul of Music (Prize of Excellent Repertoire at the 3rd Competition of Drama in Henan Province), Sister Jiang, Five Blessings Coming to the House (Prize of Excellent Repertoire at the 4th Competition of Drama in Henan Province, 14 prizes of Golden Triangle at the 1st National Theatrical Performance, the 1st Prize of Population and Culture of China), Story of Li Huozi's Divorce (Bronze Medal at the 5th Competition of Drama in Henan Province), Ah Q and Kong Yiji (Gold Medal at the 6th Henan Provincial Theatrical Competition, 6 prizes of Golden Triangle at the 3rd National Theatrical Exchange of Performance), and Lu Buwei (the golden medal and over twenty individual prizes at the 7th Henan Provincial Theatrical Competition). Of these, many have been filmed and about 60 plays have been recorded by national and local TV and broadcasting or made into TV-films.

The Troupe has leading artists like Zhang Xinfang, Wang Xiuling, Gao Guizhi, Zhou Yuzhen, Hu Xihua, Li Zhenqian, Pan Youngchang, Ma Mu, Fang Kejie and Li Jie.
