On Aug 12, Wang Gang from the Sichuan team and Yu Fengkai from the Shandong team respectively claimed gold in the men's 64kg and 91kg boxing events at the 13th National Games.

The final match began at Baodi Stadium in Tianjin. The 64kg final went first. With Wang Gang beating Li Quanlong from the Shanghai team, who took silver, the bronze medals went to Jia Wenlong and Meng Caicheng from the Hebei team.

"I gave myself 90 points out of 100." Wang admitted that an important reason for his success in the competition was that he is younger than his opponent and hence had better physical performance.

The final match of 91kg followed. With Yu Fengkai beating Li Mingtao from the Liaoning team, the bronze medals went to Zhu Xinglong from Liaoning and Guo Jin from Shanxi.

This is the first National Games championship title Yu has ever won. He will now finalize his preparations for the world championships in Hamburg, Germany, in late August.

The boxing matches of the 13th National Games wrapped up in Baodi Stadium on Aug 13, having produced nine gold medals.
