A delegation from China Tourism Academy (CTA) inspected Xichuan county in Nanyang, Henan province from July 21 to 23.

Headed by Dai Bin, president of CTA, the delegation toured the middle line of the south-to-north water diversion project, Danjiang Gran View Garden, Zuochan Valley and Xiangyan Temple to get a clear picture of the local tourism resources and industry.

Dai spoke with Xichuan officials about the benefits boosting tourism can have for poorer communities, as well as other strategic approaches to the industry.

The CTA and Xichuan county government also signed a cooperation agreement to create a CTA observation station for rural tourism in Xichuan, with Dai and other experts from the CTA appointed as consultants.

As a part of the project, the CTA will use all of its resources, including data center, observation stations and strategic partners to help to transform tourism in Xichuan, Dai said.
