New-energy auto and electric driving systems will be the focus of the center in order to improve quality. Expected to fill gaps in this field, the center has gained great attention and support from Guangdong provincial and Zhuhai municipal authorities.

A subsidy of at least 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) will be provided by the Guangdong provincial government to prepare the center. Likewise, the municipal and Jinwan District governments will provide a dedicated fund of 280 million yuan ($41.4 million) along with 3.33 hectares of construction area for free to ensure the center’s construction.

The National New-Energy Vehicle Power Battery & Electric Driving System Quality Supervision & Inspection Center will be constructed on the basis of the Guangdong (Zhuhai) Provincial Station for Quality Supervision & Inspection of Battery Products, which was built in 1997.
