Shanghai leaders keen on FTZ construction

Han Zheng, Party secretary of Shanghai, urged local officials to attach great importance to the construction of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Han made the remarks at the second plenary session of the 11th CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee held on July 13-14.

He considers it a necessity to further deepen FTZ's reform and asked the officials to be open-minded, responsible, and practical when pursuing innovation.

The Party secretary said that system innovation is key to FTZ construction and called on the officials to advance government management system innovation, to optimize the trading supervision system, and to promote the "Single Window", a metaphor describing streamlining administration efforts, as a service for international trade.

In addition, pilot reforms in judicial systems, state-owned enterprises, and education are also required to be continued.
