A modern motorsport center with the largest outdoor exhibition area in China will be built by Zhuhai Airshow Co Ltd and Shenzhen Hunting Racing. The Hunting & Zhuhai Airshow Motorsport Center is to be located at the Zhuhai Airshow Center, the venue for the biennial China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, according to the cooperation agreement signed on July 7.

The exhibition area near the airport in Jinwan will cover 1.3 sq km, and host all manner of large-scale events. It will also function as a modern motorsport base, comprising of a 240,000-sq-m auto-themed dynamic square, 1,102-m asphalt linear road for speed detection, and 70,000-sq-m cross-country drive experience area.

Support facilities will be equipped with a modern multi-functional news center, large exhibition halls, guestrooms, and business services areas. The plan is to make it an ideal place to conduct new-car launches, dealer trainings, and comprehensive vehicle tests. An autodrome circuit such as this is used for motorsports events, but not for high-speed racing.

Hunting Racing is a domestically well-known autodrome operator experienced in developing motorsport scenario projects with a professional track design team. The company has 11 standard autodromes, including Beijing Haigu Auto Park, Ordos International Circuit, and Shanghai Expo Park Circuit. It is expanding its business around the country to cover major cities by building 18 autodromes by the year's end and exceeding 18 in the next three years.

During the launch ceremony, Hunting Racing signed a partnership deal with several automobile enterprises and racing teams from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The company's general manger, Wang Yan, revealed that they will tap advantageous resources to have comprehensive and all-round service with the introduction of auto testing, competitions, cross-country drive experiences, refits, and exhibitions.

An executive for Zhuhai Airshow said that the parties will give full play to their resources when building the motorsport center. They will drive toward a higher-level of development in the Pearl River Delta and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It should polish Zhuhai's image as a top draw for conferences and exhibitions as well as a benefit for the development of high-end service tourism and the hotel sector.
