Exhibition unveils Guangdong's energy to EU citizens

On July 10, the exhibition of "2017 Experience China-Guangdong Cultural Tour to Europe" was held in Brussels, showing Guangdong's remarkable achievements in economic and social development to European citizens.

Yang Yanyi, head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, Shen Haixiong, Guangdong provincial publicity chief, Istvan Ujhelyi, vice-chair of the European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee and 300 guests visited the exhibition.

Shen pointed out that Chinese president Xi Jinping urged Guangdong to lead the campaigns of building a well-off society in a comprehensive way as well as constructing socialist modernization. Following Xi's expectations, the exhibition of "2017 Experience China-Guangdong Cultural Tour to Europe" in Brussels will be a boost to Guangdong culture's "going global". It can also help European citizens better understand Guangdong culture and enhance mutual economic and cultural exchanges.

During the events, Guangdong-based enterprises showcased their innovative achievements, such as a drone that can be controlled via software on a smart phone; an oven with a high definition and heat resisting camera, allowing people to check the cooking process using a smart phone; an ultrasonic washing machines and ceramics that can be used as decorative pictures both indoors and outdoors.

The province also brought Wanglaoji herbal tea, China's cola, Chaozhou's straw paintings and other products with charms of Chinese culture. Many visitors were impressed by the products.

Guangdong Provincial Publishing Group brought over 200 books, including Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French and Dutch). A photo exhibition was also held, with over 70 photos telling the stories of Guangdong economic development, culture, tradition and natural beauty as well as the province's participation in Belt and Road cooperation.

Brussels is the last stop of "Experience China–Guangdong Culture Tour to Europe". Prior to Brussels, the promotional activities were held in Moscow, Russia, Berlin and Hamburg in Germany, and Limburg in Belgium. The activities showcased to Europe Guangdong's social and economic development over the past decades through books, photos, innovative products, sculptures and oil paintings, pushing forward Guangdong's international exchange and cooperation in culture, economy and trade.
