Horse racing held in Horqin grassland

A series of horse racing events took place in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner, Hinggan League on July 6. Hundreds of jockeys and racehorses from China and abroad are competing for prizes during the four-day series of events.
The organizers invited jockeys from Britain, Australia, Mongolia, Russia and Thailand, and arranged a total prize fund of 2 million yuan ($300,000).
"Inner Mongolia has been a bellwether in the equine industry thanks to its natural resources and unique ethnic culture," said Li Zhiyou, deputy president of Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau.
In recent days, Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner has promoted its equine industry through sports events and cultural activities to boost the local economy and tourism.
