Tianjin traditional Chinese medicine to reach international stage

Tianjin's Chinese traditional medicine industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Having established Guoyitang, a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, it's now ready to take on the world.

Traditional Chinese medicine clinic cultivates talents

As of the end of 2016, there were 241 qualified traditional Chinese medicine clinics located in all community health service centers and township hospitals in Tianjin. The doctors in those clinics can not only give prescriptions, but can also provide services such as acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, and skin scraping. Twelve hundred doctors have been trained to offer services in traditional Chinese medicine clinics.

Chinese medicine herbs quality guaranteed

To guarantee the quality of Chinese medicine herbs, Tianjin suppliers decreased from 120 to 59, and manufacturing enterprises decreased to 73.

Chinese medicine eyes international stage

To promote the development of Chinese medicine and control the quality of its herbs pharmaceutical enterprises in Tianjin will operate according to the standards and guidelines of the FDA, EU, ICH, and ISPE.

Compound danshen dripping pills, researched by a pharmaceutical enterprise in Tianjin, is the first traditional Chinese medicine preparation to be qualified by the FDA. In addition, compound danshen dripping pills, Yangxueqingnao granule, Jing Hua Weikang Capsules, Andrographolide Pills, compound Artemether Tablets and Huo Xiang Zhengqi dripping pills have been approved as prescription medicine by eight countries including Russia, Cuba, Mongolia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The State Council released the plan Healthy China 2030 to encourage Chinese traditional medicine and therapy to move further onto the international stage.
