Inno Valley HQ celebrated its second anniversary on June 29 with the signing of more lucrative and suitable contracts concerning production-education-research projects.

To begin with, UMtec Ltd signed with Hengqin Financial Investment (HFI) Co Ltd to establish the UM High-End Sci-Tech Achievement Commercialization Base in Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley (Inno Valley HQ). UMtec is a subsidiary of the University of Macao, the campus of which is situated in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai.

Moreover, the Guangdong Academy of Sciences and HFI will build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Achievement Transfer & Transformation Center.

And, US-based ImStem Biotechnology Inc and UM began developing a Biomedical Industry Incubation Base for therapeutic products derived from human pluripotent stem cells. The base became operational in the valley on the same day.

In addition to that, Inno Valley HQ opened an exhibition highlighting the Thousand Talents Plan and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao youth entrepreneurial startup projects. On display were interactive APP, robots, 3D printers, unmanned boats, and "smart" baby products. The valley's 10 outstanding entrepreneurs were each awarded the title of 2017 Star Entrepreneur with science and technology innovation vouchers worth 10,000 yuan ($1,475).

Statistics show that over the past two years, Inno Valley HQ has incubated 203 startups, including 122 Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurial teams, accounting for 60 percent of the total. Sixteen of the valley’s enterprises have gained venture capital with over 100 million yuan ($14.75 million).
