Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia is currently experiencing a drought due to continuing hot and dry weather conditions. Over 6.5 million hectares of meadow fields and 430,000 hectares of crops have been impacted, according to the Hulunbuir government.

The city has been suffering a dry climate since spring, resulting in an economic loss of nearly 5.3 billion yuan ($779 million) so far.

Around 52,000 local residents along with farm animals have faced drinking water shortages, according to Hulunbuir government, which has invested 109 million yuan and dispatched workers to the site to combat the drought.
