Lovers of running set the stage for autumn marathon

The Beach Music Mini Race at Xianglu Bay Beach in Jida drew 500 runners on June 25 to promote the upcoming Nov 11 Zhuhai Love International Marathon (LM) 2017. 

Four different groups of men, women, couples, and families weren't bothered by unexpected rain as they enthusiastically conquered the course.

It was announced at an ensuing press conference that the fall event would see 900 participants in the four categories dart off from Love Post Office on Haibin Beach. They will race along Lovers Avenue, Xianglu Bay, Mingting Park, and make one loop around Yeli Island and the Zhuhai Opera House before finishing at the south entrance of the dual scallop-shaped landmarks. The event will encompass a 10-km marathon and 5-km mini race.

Themed "Run for Love", LM is a vogue sporting event integrating sports, romance, tourism, and intangible cultural heritage, according to a spokesperson.
