Guangdong province capital Guangzhou is vigorously promoting the city's latest achievements in urban construction at the 12nd Metropolis World Congress, which is underway in Montreal, Canada, from June 19 to 22.
Organized by the World Association of the Major Metropolises (Metropolis), the conference unites decision-makers from major cities around the world as well as public, institutional, private, community and academic stakeholders.
At the event, discussions are held on urban management and the challenges posed to urban development, with good urban practices showcased from around the globe.
Guangzhou acts as a co-president city of Metropolis and the liaison office of its Asia-Pacific region.
The Guangzhou delegation to the event, led by Li Xiaomian, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Guangzhou People's Congress, also held a special exhibition sharing its urban development and promoting the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation.
