The Jinqin Express Road Gangwan Avenue-Meihua Interchange construction project has been approved, according to the official website of Zhuhai Development & Reform Bureau.

The bureau states that the Jinqin Express Road will be constructed up to urban standards in the short term and serve as an express road in the long run.

As the regulatory engineering of the Jinqin Express Road project, the Gangwan Avenue-Meihua Interchange section will help alleviate traffic pressure in the Zhuhai central urban area and promote economic development. It will connect outskirt express roads with the municipal network.

The Jinqin Express Road will start at the intersection of Gangwan Ave and Jinfeng Road in Jinding Town of Tangjiawan and run to the Gangwan/Lovers Ave-Meihua Interchange in Xiangzhou. Eventually, there will be another connection to the upcoming Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge to the north. In the south, the road will connect Meihua Interchange and access the Xianghai Bridge and Meihua Interchange toll gate. The middle section covers Zaobei Interchange in Qianshan to Zhuhai Avenue in Nanping. The south is from Zhuhai Avenue to Beisan Road, which is near the Macao Garrison Zhuhai Base in Wanzai.

The Gangwan Ave-Fenghuang Mt Tunnel section will be a dual six-lane road, equipped with three standard road crossing facilities and five bus stops on each side. Designed to be a dual eight-lane road, the Fenghuang Mt Tunnel-Santaishi Road section will be 2.22-km long.
