Best places to admire lotus flowers in Guangzhou

Various kinds of flowers in the parks and scenic spots are beginning to bloom as summer arrives in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province. In Guangzhou, the flowering phase of lotuses is from May to September. 

June, when the weather is neither too hot nor too dry, is the perfect time to admire lotus flowers. Visitors and especially shutterbugs from across the city will gather in Guangzhou parks to do just that. 

Liwan Lake Park boasts the largest number of lotuses in Guangzhou. It was founded in 1958 and covers an area of 27 hectares, 62 percent of which are covered by lakes where visitors can admire lotus flowers. [Photo/Southcn.com]
