Special foods and unique cultures of over 60 countries were presented by more than 6,000 international students during the 12th International Culture Festival on June 3 at Jilin University.

Visitors were given pseudo passports at the entrance and the visa pages could be stamped at each of the countries' booths.

The festival provided people a chance to learn about the cultures of different countries and to try diversified delicacies.

A Chinese student said he visited the Somalia exhibition area and was warmly welcomed by Somali students. He learned much about their culture and even learned to play the Somali national drum.

Liu Jiyi, a Jilin University student, was excited about the cuisine he enjoyed and had also made friends with many international students.

"The Korean and Japanese desserts look very nice and the French dishes are all made with quality ingredients," he said, adding, "it's awesome to have a pint of German beer after the feast."

Li Meihua, head of Jilin University's College of International Education, explained that the event was originally a program initiated among students and it is now attracting more and more people.

The festival plays a significant role in promoting a diversified global culture atmosphere and has offered students a platform to exchange unique cultures and open their eyes.
