South China's Guangdong province held a publicity event in Haizhu Wetland Park, Guangzhou, urging the public to protect our planet on World Environment Day, observed on June 5 every year across the globe.
More than 300 government and enterprise leaders, representatives of non-government organizations and media outlets, experts and students took part in the activity and displayed their determination to protect the Earth.
This year's theme, Connecting Humans and Nature, was selected by the host country Canada, and encourages people to enjoy the outdoors and to take positive environmental action to protect the Earth that we share.
