Guanyin Mt Park: historic, natural, tranquil, lovely

The landscape design for Guanyin Mt Country Park is open for public comment before work begins next February in northeast Sanzao Town of Jinwan District, it was announced at a preliminary hearing on May 26.

At an altitude of around 200 m, the 752-hectare park will feature six main areas -- Entrance Landscaping, Main Activity, Lakeside View, Cliff Sightseeing, Nature Forest, and Temple Culture.

Facilities will include a Children's Bunker, Activity Yard for Seniors, Theater, and Sports Playground. The Theater will grace the entrance and meet the demand of small performances and exercises.

A Teahouse among the mountains is also planned, allowing guests to rest while soaking a few fragrant tea leaves.

Work will be carried out in two phases, with the first focusing on hiking trails linking historic sites such as the 10,000-Death Bone Fields Monument commemorating massacres by Japanese invaders, Guanyin Temple, and Lingyan Cave. 

The second phase will highlight the Temple-Themed Scenic Spot with lush natural sightseeing opportunities.

Guanyin Mt Country Park will play an important role in Zhuhai’s construction of a National Forest City. After opening, the park will benefit students and residents from nearby Zhuhai College of Jilin University, Zunyi Medical College Zhuhai Campus, Jin Hai’an Community, Sanzao Community, and Zhongxin Village.
