Jilin Provincial Party Congress kicks off in Changchun

The 11th Jilin Provincial Party Congress opened on May 26 in Changchun, the provincial capital, during which Bayin Chaolu, Jilin's Party secretary, delivered a speech on following the revitalization strategy and striving for a more prosperous Jilin.

He reviewed achievements Jilin province gained since the 10th Provincial Party Congress, summarized lessons the Party learned over the past five years and stressed that this will be a key period for the province to accelerate its development in the next five years.

Bayin Chaolu said Jilin intends to accelerate GDP growth, develop real economy, and promote innovation as the most important production force.

Meanwhile, developing manufacturing, health care, and tourism into new pillar industries is crucial.

The congress was chaired by Liu Guozhong, vice secretary of Jilin. Also presented at the congress were current and former deputy directors of the Jilin Provincial Committee of Party's Congress, members of CPPCC, and delegates of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
